Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked fresh debate with his assertion that infidelity impacts women in relationships far more severely than it does men. Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, the actor argued that once a woman engages in cheating, she emotionally and psychologically withdraws from her partner.
According to Edochie, men should never overlook cheating because a woman who strays has already lost interest. He described any man who forgives such betrayal as a weak individual. He emphasized that women are loyal and devoted when genuinely in love, but many men end up with partners who do not truly love them, leading those women to cheat with their actual love interests.
He said, “If a woman truly loves you, she will go to great lengths for you. The trouble is that many men are with women who don’t love them, so they can’t get genuine commitment. Those women are invested in someone else.”
Referencing a recent scandal involving a married woman and a young man, Edochie noted that the husband pleaded with his wife to save the marriage, but she instead protected her lover. He claimed this happens because the woman’s true affection lies elsewhere. “Do you know how much she might have spent on him?” he asked.
The actor added that leaked voice notes allegedly from the cheating wife and her lover showed them mocking the husband. He argued that for many women, cheating signals a complete emotional exit. “So there is no such thing as forgiving cheating. If you do, you are a weak man.”
Edochie concluded by urging men to find women who truly love them. “Women love deeper than men. Just find the one who loves you, and you will be amazed at how sweet life can be. Don’t be a fool for a woman. Set boundaries because women don’t admire weak men.”
