The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has urged Muslims across Nigeria to remain alert during the upcoming Eid al-Kabir celebrations. The monarch’s counsel was conveyed in a Tuesday statement issued by his media aide, Adeola Oloko.
Extending his congratulations to the faithful on reaching another Eid al-Kabir, the traditional ruler emphasized the need for heightened awareness. He stressed that everyone should always be security-conscious, especially during the festivities.
“Watching one’s back means being constantly aware of your surroundings while commemorating the noble life of Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of devotion,” the Olubadan stated.
He further advised, “Though this is a time for joy, we must celebrate with prayerfulness and solemnity, mindful of Nigeria’s persistent challenges like insecurity.”
