Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has conceded that his team made errors during their Unity Cup semi-final victory, despite securing a 2-0 win against Zimbabwe’s Warriors on Tuesday night. Speaking after the match at The Valley in London, Chelle emphasized that this was just a friendly and not a World Cup qualifier, urging his players to work harder.
“This is only a friendly game. This is not the World Cup qualifier. They need to work hard,” Chelle said in his post-match interview. “They need to try to understand what I want, what the technical staff want. The high level is difficult.”
Chelle acknowledged that his side made mistakes with the ball during the game, but stressed that training would address these issues. “So you see, we made some mistakes with the ball. For sure, you see tomorrow we work out,” he added.
Femi Azeez scored twice to secure the win for Nigeria, who will now face either India or Jamaica in the final this weekend. India and Jamaica are set to clash on Wednesday night, with the winner advancing to play Nigeria. The match is part of the Unity Cup tournament.
