Paris Saint-Germain have received a significant boost ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final with Arsenal, as key players Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi have resumed full training with the squad. The Ligue 1 champions were sweating over the fitness of the duo, who have been sidelined with respective injuries.
Dembele, the reigning Ballon d’Or winner, had been nursing a right calf injury sustained in a league encounter against Paris FC on May 17. Meanwhile, Hakimi picked up a right thigh problem during PSG’s semi-final triumph over Bayern Munich.
However, the club has confirmed that both players are now back on the training pitch and fully integrated with the rest of the team. Their availability is a major lift for manager Luis Enrique as his side aims to defend the title they won last year against Inter Milan.
The Parisians are eager to become the first team to retain the trophy in the Champions League era, and having Dembele and Hakimi fit significantly strengthens their chances against an Arsenal side that has been in formidable form this season.
