Millwall’s Femi Azeez has set his sights on clinching the Africa Cup of Nations title with the Nigerian national team. The 24-year-old winger expressed his ambitions following a stunning debut, where he netted twice in the Unity Cup semi-final against Zimbabwe.
Azeez, who previously played for Reading, made an immediate impact by scoring a brace in the 2-0 victory over Kaitano Tembo’s side. Reflecting on his performance, he stated his desire to contribute more goals and assists while creating opportunities for his teammates.
“Scoring more goals and providing assists are key priorities for me. I also aim to create chances and help the team succeed. My ultimate goal is to win the AFCON and represent Nigeria at the World Cup,” Azeez revealed after the match.
The winger will have another chance to showcase his skills when the Super Eagles face Jamaica in the Unity Cup final on Sunday. With his impressive start, Azeez is poised to become a regular feature in the squad under coach Eric Chelle.
