Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has openly declared Pep Guardiola as the finest football manager globally, while also asserting that Manchester City stands as the greatest team in Premier League history.
Arteta shared his views during the post-match press conference following Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on the concluding day of the Premier League season.
“We had no choice but to elevate our performance because we were up against an opponent that consistently challenges you to improve,” Arteta explained. “In my judgment, we faced the most outstanding team [Manchester City] to ever grace this league, and they continually pushed us to our limits. As for Pep, he is unquestionably the world’s best manager, bar none.”
“Achieving what we did under those conditions and in that fashion is all about the collective spirit of this squad. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it,” he added.
