INSTALLATION.
1. Upload and activate.
2. Install and activate all the recommended plugins that come with the theme
(necessary)
3. In addition to the plugins attached, download and
install/activate the below plugins.
i. Categories Images: https://wordpress.org/plugins/categories-images/
ii. Post Type Switcher: https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-type-switcher/#description
iii. Download Monitor: https://wordpress.org/plugins/download-monitor/
All the plugins
must be activated before doing anything
CREATING CATEGORIES…
When creating categories, you’ll notice additional features:
category icon and
category image. Please add a category icon and image. It’s an amazing feature you don’t want to miss…
CREATING POST, TRACK, ARTIST, VIDEO, ALBUM…
This theme comes with
4 post types name:
post,
track,
video,
artist,
album…
POST…
Post post type should be used to create general contents. To create a post, go to “Post”, “Add New”…
TRACK..
Track should be used to create songs… To create song, go to “Track”, “Add New”
VIDEO…
Video post type should be used to create music videos.. Some songs have videos. These should be created here..
ARTIST…
Artist post type should be used to create artists… To create artists, go to “Artist”, “Add New”…
ALBUM…
Album post type should be used to create albums…
RELATIONSHIP FEATURES…
Relationship feature links track, artist, video and album together… Artist makes album.. Album has tracks… tracks have videos… So how to link them? Simple!
CREATE ARTIST FIRST…
To make things easier, first create “Artist”…
1. First create Artist categories… Categories should be A, B, C, D, E, F… 12345… etc..
2. Now click on “Add New Artist”.
3. Select a category..
4. Fill the artist details… Like full name, etc…
5. Click “relations”.. Make sure you enable “yes” for “show artist tracks”, “show artist albums” and “show artist videos”…
We are done with artist…
CREATE ALBUM NEXT….
Since tracks are under album, we should create albums next…
1. Create category.
2. Click “Add New Album”
3. Fill everything.
4. Select artist.. You’ll see two “
select artists”
use only the second one..
(Select Artist
Artists list from artist post type). So you will select one of the artists you added first. Now you see why we created artist first?
We are done with Album…
CREATE MUSIC VIDEO NEXT…
If the track you want to upload has a video, upload it in this post type.
CREATE TRACK NEXT…
Now that we have the artist and the album, we should now create a track…
1. Create category…
2. Add New Track…
3.. Click
“Insert Download” to add songs. Please use this feature if you want download stats to be collected. Please note the
ID.. You’ll use it in the
final step…
4. Click “relations”..
i. Select Track Artist..
ii. Select the music video if it has.
iii. Select the track Album…
5. Go down and add the ID you copied in step 3 to the box provided…
Now we are done with track…
TRENDING SONGS…
Go to “
Track“, create a category with the name and slug
trending
Now any song you want to feature at the top should be added to the
Trending category.
CHANGING COLOR…
To change the default green color, go to customize, select a color and save…
FINALLY, YOU CAN CHANGE POST TYPE…
Example, you can change a post from “
post” to “
track“, “
track” to “
album“, “
album to
post” and so on…
Go to the post edit screen or manage posts area. On the edit screen of your post or another post type, you will see a drop down under the “Publish” meta box. Choose the post type you want to switch to and click the update button.
