Nasarawa United’s technical adviser, Mbwas Mangut, has ignited a fresh pursuit for continental qualification through the President Federation Cup. The Solid Miners fell short of securing a spot in African competitions during the 2025-26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign.
Victory in the President Federation Cup guarantees entry into the CAF Confederation Cup for the upcoming season. Mangut views this tournament as a golden opportunity for his squad to atone for their league disappointment. “The players are hurting, and rightly so. But the season isn’t over yet,” Mangut told the club’s media. “If we didn’t get what we aspired for in the league, we still have the FA Cup to reignite our pursuit of a title and continental ticket.”
He emphasized that this is a chance to redefine their year on their own terms. “We have let ourselves down in the NPFL this season,” he added, acknowledging the team’s shortcomings.
