George Aluo, the chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), has addressed concerns regarding the participation of Remo Stars and Beyond Limits in the upcoming season. Both clubs are owned by Kunle Soname, a prominent businessman and football investor, which has sparked discussions about potential conflicts of interest if they compete in the same division.
In an interview with Sport Village Square, Aluo emphasized that the ownership and operational frameworks of the Ikenne-based clubs comply fully with league regulations. “On paper, the two clubs have different ownership and management structures,” he stated, dismissing allegations of rule violations.
Aluo further explained that sharing facilities does not inherently compromise sporting integrity. “To preserve sporting integrity, we will ensure that Remo Stars and Beyond Limits are placed in different groups,” he added, outlining the league’s proactive measures to maintain fairness.
