Sunshine Stars U-19 head coach Adenike Ayeni has declared his ambition to claim the 2025-26 President Federation Cup trophy. Following his team’s surprising elimination of NPFL side Niger Tornadoes in the Round of 64, Ayeni remains grounded but determined.
“We won’t let this win distract us. Our approach is to take each match as it comes and stay completely focused on the Federation Cup,” Ayeni stated in an interview with Karenkossnews. “My goal is to lift the cup. I achieved that as captain of Sunshine Queens, and I want to repeat it now as the U-19 head coach.”
The Akure-based outfit now awaits the completion of the round’s remaining fixtures to learn their next opponent. Ayeni emphasized that his team will not become complacent after their impressive result against a top-flight club.
