Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has advised Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to bring Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez to the Emirates, following the Gunners’ failure to clinch the UEFA Champions League this season.
Speaking on the The Rest Is Football podcast, Richards emphasized that Arsenal need an additional forward to strengthen their attacking lineup for the upcoming campaign.
Although Arsenal already have Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres, Richards believes adding Alvarez would offer a different dynamic to the team’s offense.
“I feel they require another striker. Kai Havertz possesses remarkable technical skills, and Viktor Gyokeres has performed well in his debut season,” Richards stated.
“However, if they could secure someone like Julian Alvarez, it would bring a fresh element to Arsenal’s attack. He ranks among the world’s elite strikers as the World Cup approaches, and he has already claimed one of those with Argentina.”
