Brazilian FA Provides Update on Neymar's Fitness for 2026 World Cup

The Brazilian Football Confederation has issued a new update on Neymar’s recovery status, offering fresh hope to fans ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In a statement released on Monday, the governing body confirmed that the 34-year-old forward is making positive strides in his rehabilitation from a calf issue.

Neymar, currently with Santos, had been facing a potential absence of two to three weeks after a scan last month revealed a grade two muscle tear. However, a subsequent scan on Monday indicated significant improvement. The confederation noted that the examination showed favorable progress, aligning with the medical team’s expectations.

As a result, the star player will now continue his recovery and physical conditioning under the guidance of the national team’s medical staff. He has already missed Brazil’s preparatory friendlies against Panama and Egypt but remains hopeful of featuring in the tournament.
