Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely recognized as Baba Ijesha, and his spouse Anjy Luminee have announced the arrival of a baby boy, triggering a wave of polarized reactions across social media platforms.
The couple shared the news on Tuesday, receiving congratulations from industry peers, fans, and well-wishers. However, the joyous announcement also revived discussions about the actor’s previous legal entanglements.
Notable figures like Bobrisky faced criticism for extending their felicitations, while actress Moyo Lawal encountered backlash for her supportive message. Some users defended Lawal, stating that offering congratulations should not be condemned.
Reality TV personality Angel Smith publicly questioned Luminee’s choice to remain in the marriage following Baba Ijesha’s conviction. Social media critic Daniel Regha echoed similar sentiments, suggesting that Luminee ought to have left the relationship after the sentencing.
Despite the negativity, several celebrities celebrated the new addition. Actor Yomi Fabiyi sent warm wishes, and actress Olayinka Solomon along with other supporters also conveyed their blessings.
To provide context, Baba Ijesha was found guilty in 2022 by a Lagos State High Court for sexually assaulting a minor and received a 16-year prison term. However, the Court of Appeal later overturned the conviction, leading to his release in November 2025.
