MOUAU management denies planned invasion by hoodlums, urges calm

The leadership of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) has officially refuted claims circulating on social media that criminal elements are planning to storm the campus. In a statement released on Friday, the university described the information as baseless and capable of causing unnecessary anxiety among students, faculty, and parents.

According to the Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Anyaso Anyaso, the institution’s security team, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, conducted a thorough investigation and found no credible evidence supporting the alleged threat. The university reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of its community, noting that security personnel are working round the clock alongside the Nigeria Police Force and other agencies, with enhanced patrols in place.

MOUAU warned against the misuse of social media to spread panic and urged students and staff to dismiss any fears and continue with their normal academic routines. The statement emphasized that the welfare of everyone on campus remains a top priority.
