The lead was doubled with just under 30 minutes remaining when Ifeanyi Kindness found the target with a composed finish, effectively putting the tie beyond reach for the visitors. The Nigerian defense held firm throughout, ensuring a clean sheet and a commanding advantage heading into the second leg.
