The Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) has taken disciplinary action against Ahudiyanem FC following an incident during their match against Right 2 Win. Several players, including Anayo Chukwujekwu, Christopher Onu, and Emmanuel Ibeh, along with the team manager and head coach, have been handed indefinite suspensions.
The league body accused them of bringing the game into disrepute through their actions. As a result, those involved are barred from all league activities until a final decision is reached by the disciplinary committee.
In addition to the suspensions, Ahudiyanem FC has been fined N500,000. The club must also provide a written guarantee ensuring the safety of match officials, following reports of threats made during the incident. Furthermore, supporters of Ahudiyanem FC have also been suspended from attending league matches.
The NLO clarified that no points were awarded to Right 2 Win FC, as the match was not officially abandoned by the officials despite the disruptions. This ensures that the result of the game remains unaffected pending further review.
