The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has witnessed a significant shift as one of its leading governorship aspirants, Senator Ibrahim Bomai, announced his exit from the 2027 race. Representing Yobe South in the Senate, Bomai revealed his decision in a statement on Saturday, following a series of consultations with party stakeholders, political allies, and numerous supporters across the state.
According to the senator, this move was prompted by extensive dialogue and the counsel of party elders, all aimed at preserving cohesiveness and tranquility as the 2027 elections approach. He emphasized that his initial aspiration was rooted in a genuine wish to foster progress, peace, and harmony in Yobe State.

This development follows closely on the heels of similar decisions by two other APC governorship aspirants: Lawan Kolo Geidam and former Inspector-General of Police Usman Alkali Baba, both of whom previously stepped aside.
