Serie A outfit Bologna has identified Nigerian striker Gift Orban as a prime target for the upcoming summer transfer window, according to reports. The 23-year-old forward is currently on loan at Hellas Verona from Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim, but Verona has opted not to make his move permanent, meaning he will return to Hoffenheim at the end of the season.
Orban’s performances this term have caught Bologna’s attention. In 28 league appearances for Verona, he has netted seven goals, showcasing his potential. However, his recent altercation with a fan following a home defeat to AC Milan has led to him being left out of the squad for the last four matches, putting his immediate future in doubt.
According to Transferfeed, Orban is valued between €8 million and €10 million, making him an affordable option for Bologna. His experience in Serie A is also seen as a major plus, as the club looks to strengthen their attacking options without breaking the bank.
