Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has voiced strong optimism that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election, asserting that no opponent, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, poses a threat to the All Progressives Congress (APC) hold on power.
Speaking after casting his ballot at the APC presidential primary in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, Namadi emphasized his dedication to securing over one million votes for Tinubu in the upcoming general election. He described this target as achievable due to the robust backing the APC enjoys throughout Jigawa.
The governor attributed the high voter turnout during the primary to widespread confidence in Tinubu and the APC-led administration among party members and residents. He praised the peaceful and transparent nature of the exercise, highlighting it as evidence of the president’s commitment to democratic principles and internal party democracy.
Namadi predicted that the primary’s outcome foreshadows a landslide victory for the ruling party in the 2027 national polls. He characterized Jigawa as a key stronghold for the APC, noting its significant number of registered voters and the unwavering support base.
