The popular Hausa praise singer, Dauda Adamu Kahutu, better known as Rarara, has launched a scathing attack on Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, over his recent actions during the FIFA World Cup countdown concert. In a viral video, Rarara asserted that it is irresponsible for any political figure or public personality to exploit the nation’s security challenges for political benefit. He labeled such behavior as utterly insane.
Rarara specifically criticized Davido for displaying messages about the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State at the international event. According to Rarara, publicizing sensitive security issues on a global platform damages Nigeria’s image and makes it harder to resolve these crises. He stressed that security matters should be handled discreetly, not turned into campaign talking points or public spectacles.
The singer went on to accuse Davido of having political motives, claiming that his actions were intended to support his uncle’s political ambitions while discrediting the current administration. Rarara warned that no politician or artist should use insecurity as a campaign strategy. ‘Anyone who campaigns with insecurity is insane because such a person does not fully understand the gravity of the issue,’ he said.
Rarara also called on public figures and content creators to exercise caution when discussing security matters, noting that the public may not be aware of the complex operations being carried out by security agencies. He concluded by stating that while Nigerians have the right to express concern over national issues, they must do so in a way that does not harm the country’s reputation or hinder efforts to tackle insecurity.
