Rivers Angels head coach Tosan Blankson has openly accepted responsibility for the team’s lackluster performance in the recently concluded season. The Port Harcourt-based outfit failed to secure the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title and also fell short in their bid to retain the President Federation Cup, suffering a quarter-final exit at the hands of Robo Queens.
In a candid media interaction, Blankson acknowledged that the results fell below expectations. “Unfortunately, I did not finish the season well with Rivers Angels,” he stated. “I take full responsibility for not achieving the desired outcomes.” The coach expressed regret over the team’s inability to compete for top honors in both major competitions.
Despite the setbacks, Blankson is already looking forward to the 2026-27 campaign with renewed optimism. “A new chapter is loading,” he declared. “I apologize to the fans and the people of Rivers State. We will come back stronger.”
