Wikki Tourists Celebrate Forward's Flying Eagles Selection

Wikki Tourists have expressed pride over the selection of their striker, Abubakar Aliyu, for a spot in the Flying Eagles squad. The young forward is among 35 players called up by head coach Abdu Maikaba for the upcoming WAFU B U-20 Championship scheduled to take place in Cote d’Ivoire.

Despite the Bauchi Elephants struggling this season, Aliyu has emerged as one of the team’s brightest sparks. His consistent displays have not gone unnoticed, earning him a chance to fight for a place in the national U-20 setup.

In a statement released on their official social media channels, the club described the invitation as a testament to Aliyu’s dedication, perseverance, and excellent form at the domestic level. They praised his work ethic and wished him well as he competes for a final spot in the tournament-bound squad.

“Wikki Tourists FC congratulates our player, Abubakar Aliyu (Mane), on his invitation to the Nigeria U-20 National Team by Coach Abdu Maikaba,” the club wrote. “The invitation is a recognition of his hard work, commitment and impressive performances at club level, and we are proud to see him earn the opportunity to compete for a place in the national team.”

The tournament in Ivory Coast represents a crucial step for the Flying Eagles as they prepare for future continental and global competitions. Aliyu will be eager to make an impact and secure his place in the final roster.
