Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar held discussions with aides of Congressman Riley Moore on Thursday, focusing on electoral fairness and security challenges in Nigeria. The meeting, orchestrated by Washington lobbying firm Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C., aimed to address concerns surrounding the upcoming 2027 general elections.
In a statement released by the firm, it was emphasized that the dialogue underscored the necessity of safeguarding every Nigerian’s right to participate in free and fair elections. Such elections, the statement noted, are crucial for choosing leaders capable of tackling the nation’s persistent security issues.
The firm described the session as constructive, highlighting the shared commitment to election integrity, peace, and long-term stability in Nigeria. Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C. was retained to enhance Atiku’s image in the United States as he prepares for the 2027 presidential race.
This development follows Atiku’s submission of his presidential nomination forms with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He has called on Nigerians to join him in restoring the country to its former glory, referring to the need to bring back the ‘good old days.’
