Former Arsenal full-back Bacary Sagna has tipped Manchester City sensation Rayan Cherki as a future Ballon d’Or winner. In an interview with Oddschecker, Sagna praised the 21-year-old Frenchman’s unique style, saying, ‘Cherki is special. You can see by his performance that he’s an entertainer who captivates the entire audience.’
Sagna highlighted Cherki’s street football roots, comparing him to Brazilian greats. ‘He looks like a street footballer in his approach, with that flair for dribbling, precise touches, and creative play. That’s why I believe he can definitely claim the Ballon d’Or someday,’ added the former defender.
The ex-Arsenal man also emphasized Cherki’s youth as an advantage. ‘He still has plenty of time on his side. He’s very young, but already shows the quality to reach the top,’ Sagna concluded.
