Juventus icon Alessandro Del Piero has asserted that Paris Saint-Germain’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would have secured the 2026 Ballon d’Or if the World Cup were not taking place this year.
Speaking as a pundit on Sky, Del Piero praised Kvaratskhelia’s remarkable consistency. “If there was no World Cup, Kvaratskhelia would definitely win the Ballon d’Or for his Champions League performances,” Del Piero said. “No one has matched his determination in goals, assists, and overall play throughout the season.”
The Georgian winger was named UEFA Champions League Player of the Season after contributing 10 goals and six assists in the competition, helping PSG defeat Arsenal in the final.
