Ilechukwu Pledges to Bolster Rangers Squad for 2026/27 Campaign

Rangers International’s technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has outlined his primary objective of reinforcing the team’s roster in preparation for the upcoming 2026/27 football season. The announcement comes on the heels of the club officially extending his contract by an additional year this past Saturday, putting an end to lingering uncertainties regarding his future with the Flying Antelopes.

With the new deal in place, Ilechukwu is now fully focused on leading the Enugu-based outfit through a demanding schedule that includes both domestic league commitments in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and a return to continental competition in the CAF Champions League. The tactician masterminded Rangers’ record ninth NPFL title triumph last season, a feat that secured the club’s place back in Africa’s elite club tournament after several years of absence.

“We are completely focused and determined to deliver our best, particularly now that we are making a comeback to continental football,” Ilechukwu stated in remarks carried by Owosports. “We are putting in the work to fortify the squad and ensure Rangers stay competitive at the highest level.”

The manager’s commitment signals an aggressive approach to squad building as the club aims to build on its recent domestic success and make a meaningful impact on the African stage. Ilechukwu’s renewed tenure provides stability and continuity, allowing him to implement his vision for a strengthened and more formidable Rangers side. The technical adviser’s emphasis on squad reinforcement underscores the club’s ambition to not only defend its NPFL crown but also to progress deep into the Champions League campaign.
