The 2025–26 Nigeria Premier Football League season has drawn to a close, and Kwara United FC have officially entered their end-of-season hiatus. The Ilorin-based outfit managed to secure their top-flight status by finishing in 16th place, narrowly avoiding relegation on the final matchday.
Additionally, their journey in the 2026 President Federation Cup came to an end when they suffered a defeat against Sokoto United during the Round of 32 stage.
An announcement from the club’s media department, endorsed by Chairman Kumbi Titiloye on Thursday, confirmed the break. According to the statement, the team will begin early preparations for the upcoming 2026–27 campaign, with trials and evaluations for potential new recruits scheduled to start the following weekend.
Both the newly identified players and the current squad members are expected to return for pre-season training after the Annual General Meeting takes place.
