Mangut Praises Player Discipline in Nasarawa United's Cup Triumph

Mbwas Mangut, the technical adviser of Nasarawa United, has commended his squad for their composed and disciplined performance that led to a 3-1 victory over Westgate FC in the President Federation Cup Round of 64. The match took place on Tuesday at the Late Prince Abubakar Audu Sports Complex in Lokoja.

Mangut acknowledged that the game was challenging against the non-league opponents, but he highlighted the team’s commitment to their tactical plan. He emphasized that patience and seizing opportunities were crucial, as cup competitions leave no room for carelessness.

“We remained disciplined to our system, kept calm, and capitalized on our chances when they arrived. That’s what cup football requires; you cannot afford to be complacent,” Mangut remarked in an interview with the club’s media team. He added that while the opposition was fast and resilient, Nasarawa United proved to be the superior side.

Looking ahead, Mangut has urged his players to redirect their energy toward the final match of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League season. Nasarawa United is set to face Barau FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano this weekend.

“We handle each game as it comes. For now, our focus is on the league’s last fixture in Kano,” he stated.
