Femi Azeez has been blocked by Millwall from joining the Super Eagles for their upcoming international exhibition matches against Poland and Portugal, according to sources. The Championship club’s decision comes amid intense transfer speculation surrounding the former Watford player.
The winger, who was initially summoned as a substitute for Samuel Chukwueze, impressed during the Unity Cup invitational tournament. On his debut for Nigeria, he delivered a standout performance, scoring two goals against Zimbabwe’s Warriors.
Millwall’s move is believed to be linked to a high-profile transfer involving the 24-year-old. The Lions recently turned down a €20 million bid from Ipswich Town, a newly promoted Premier League side. Bournemouth and Brighton & Hove Albion have also expressed interest in acquiring his services.
