Obi, a leading contender for the 2027 presidential election and former Labour Party candidate, pinpointed corrupt politicians as the primary barrier to Nigeria’s development. He emphasized that these leaders prioritize personal enrichment over national welfare, thereby stalling growth across security, power, healthcare, and education.
The event, aptly named the David and Goliath Conference, aimed to empower young Nigerians to confront systemic challenges. Obi engaged with delegates, answering tough questions about overcoming personal and national Goliaths. He identified key failing sectors—security, education, health, and unemployment—as areas requiring urgent attention.
