On Wednesday, Oyo State witnessed a massive outcry as residents and young people flooded the streets to condemn the recent abduction of students and educators. The protest, which took place in Ogbomoso, saw angry demonstrators chanting slogans like “Bring back our children” and “Free our teachers.” According to a video shared with DAILY POST, the crowd expressed deep anger over the government’s inability to address rising insecurity and economic hardships.
Some protesters were seen pulling down billboards and banners featuring President Bola Tinubu. This action came on the heels of coordinated attacks on three schools in Oriire Local Government Area, where dozens of pupils and a teacher were taken. Sadly, DAILY POST reports that the kidnapped teacher was later beheaded by the assailants.
The atmosphere in Ogbomoso remains tense as citizens demand immediate action to rescue the abducted individuals and improve safety across the state.
