Real Madrid’s €150M Bid for Julian Alvarez Rejected by Atletico

Real Madrid's €150M Bid for Julian Alvarez Rejected by Atletico

Real Madrid has officially disclosed that their substantial €150 million proposal for Atletico Madrid’s forward Julian Alvarez was turned down earlier this week. The 26-year-old striker, who has been one of the most sought-after talents in the current transfer window, may still be on the move from the Wanda Metropolitano. Madrid’s city rivals have now entered the fray for his signature.

The bid follows a promise made by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to secure a marquee signing, a ‘Galactico’, if he were re-elected. Following a board meeting, the club released a statement confirming the offer: “Real Madrid CF announces that, following today’s Board of Directors meeting, it has made an offer of 150 million euros to Club Atletico de Madrid for the federative rights of the player Julian Álvarez.” The statement continued, “After studying and evaluating it, Atletico de Madrid has thanked the club for the offer, made within the framework of the good relations existing between both clubs, and has rejected it, referring to the player’s release clause.”

This development adds another layer of intrigue to the summer transfer saga, as Alvarez’s future remains uncertain with several top clubs monitoring the situation.
