The most recent final, held in Budapest, saw Paris Saint-Germain defeat Arsenal in a penalty shootout after the match ended 1-1. The goals in regular time came from Kai Havertz and Ousmane Dembele. Havertz’s strike for Arsenal was significant. According to OptaJoe, the German international has now scored in a Champions League final for two different clubs: Chelsea and Arsenal. He previously found the net for Chelsea in the 2021 final.
Havertz joins an elite list that includes Cristiano Ronaldo and Mario Mandzukic. Ronaldo scored for Manchester United in 2008 and for Real Madrid in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Mandzukic netted for Bayern Munich in 2013 and for Juventus in 2017. This trio stands alone in Champions League history for this particular double-club feat.
