Brighton's Youth Focus Won Me Over: Super Eagles Prospect Zadok

New Brighton & Hove Albion signing Zadok Yohanna has explained why he opted for the Seagulls over rival Premier League clubs. The 18-year-old Nigerian winger, who joined from AIK Stockholm, cited Brighton’s proven track record in developing young talent as the decisive factor.

Yohanna, who impressed with his pace and technical ability in the Swedish top flight, had several offers on the table. However, a thorough analysis of Premier League clubs led him to Brighton. “I regularly watch top-flight matches and analyze which sides give opportunities to emerging players. Brighton is clearly among the best,” he disclosed.

The youngster acknowledged the difficulty of leaving Sweden, where he felt immense support. “I shared a strong bond with everyone at AIK. It was a tough decision to depart,” he admitted. However, a direct conversation with manager Fabian Hürzeler sealed the move. “He pushed me to stay hungry and work relentlessly. I’m determined to repay that faith by striving for trophies,” Yohanna added.

Brighton’s long-term commitment to nurturing talent was a major draw for the Super Eagles invitee. The club’s strategy of gradually integrating young prospects into the first team aligns perfectly with his career ambitions. “I want to develop in an environment that values improvement. Brighton is the ideal place for that,” he asserted.

Yohanna’s signing underscores Brighton’s ongoing efforts to secure high-potential players for the future. The Nigerian is expected to feature for the senior squad after an acclimatization period, continuing the club’s tradition of promoting youth.
