Chelsea striker Joao Pedro has expressed his sympathy for the club’s faithful following a disappointing Premier League loss to Nottingham Forest. The Brazilian international was on target during the 3-1 reversal at Stamford Bridge, but his effort was not enough to salvage a result for the Blues.
Speaking in a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Pedro admitted the team had fallen short of expectations. ‘Everyone needs to take a hard look at themselves, and I include myself in that,’ he stated. ‘I feel deeply for the supporters who came out to back us.’
Forest took control of the contest through a brace from Taiwo Awoniyi, with Igor Jesus adding a third before Pedro’s consolation strike. The result leaves Chelsea searching for answers as they prepare for a daunting trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on Saturday.
Pedro’s goal was his 15th non-penalty league strike of the campaign, highlighting his individual contribution even as the team struggles. Despite the setback, the forward remains focused on bouncing back. ‘We have to regroup quickly and show our character against Liverpool,’ he added.
