Kebbi APC Primaries: Governor Idris Hails Peaceful Senatorial Polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries in Kebbi State were conducted in a peaceful manner, according to Governor Nasir Idris. The governor made this statement while commenting on the Monday exercise held at Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi.

Governor Idris praised party members for their discipline, loyalty, and commitment to reaching consensus, underscoring that the event showcased unity among APC supporters in the state. He specifically acknowledged several aspirants who voluntarily withdrew from the race to foster party cohesion, naming Alhaji Kabir Sani Giant, Engineer Garba Haruna, Dr. Hussaini Suleiman Kangiwa, and Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah. Their actions, the governor said, demonstrated political maturity and a dedication to the party’s collective interest.

The primaries ultimately produced candidates through consensus agreements. Senator Adamu Aliero emerged as the flagbearer for Kebbi Central, Senator Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi for Kebbi North, and retired General Jafar Muhammad Gajere for Kebbi South. The affirmation of these candidates was endorsed by Comrade Garba Muhammad, Chairman of the Primary Election Appeal Committee, and Barrister Attahiru Maccido, Chairman of the Affirmation Committee, amid enthusiastic cheers from party supporters.
