Manchester United could see a significant reduction in the compensation payout related to former manager Ruben Amorim if he takes over as AC Milan’s head coach, according to Sky Sports. The Red Devils paid £15.9 million to sack the Portuguese tactician just a few months ago.
However, that hefty sum could be trimmed by several million pounds should Amorim secure the position at the San Siro. The former Sporting CP boss is already in advanced discussions with the Serie A giants about a potential move.
Interestingly, if Amorim does land the job at AC Milan, a reunion with Manchester United might happen sooner rather than later. The two clubs are scheduled to face each other during the upcoming pre-season tour, which could set the stage for an early meeting between the manager and his former club.
